Cheryl’s Bio
Cheryl Arnold has been drawing all her life. She worked for 10 years as a commercial artist in Nashville, TN then went back to the University of Tennessee to finish her degree in Economics. She worked her way through school by doing artwork for the UT Press (a book editor). Just out of college, Cheryl went to work for a major computer company and had little time for art for the next 25+ years.
Working now in oil, pencil, charcoal and pastels, she has always been intrigued with the way light and shadow affects different subjects. This can be seen in her paintings and drawings.

Don’s Bio
Don Van Pernis spent his early years in the US Army then moved into a career working for the same large computer company that Cheryl eventually worked for. When he decided to pursue art, he attended several classes at Kennesaw University in Atlanta, GA and began working at mastering this new career. Don also works with oil, pencil and pastel and especially likes painting Western art scenes.

Don and Cheryl hone their skills by bouncing ideas and critiques off of each other. The couple maintains that their only real problem is that they are constantly stealing each others pencils and pastels - so far, brushes are off-limits.
